Old Rutherford supported the Nazi regime and then it turn on them. If it wasn't so tragic it would be comical...

after listening/reading to psycho...er, um, ehhh...ciro's blah blah blah.....something clicked in my head.. i'll be upfront and admit that these questions may be "reaching" for something.
but, considering a possibility, had the wtbts intentionally joined the u.n. as an ngo, to provoke a anti-jw stance from the u.n.?.
consider the questions that are floating in my skull.
So it theory they are correct to say "There goes the story that WTS is member of the UN. This is real in fact not true." hawkaw you are correct we must stick to the facts. The WT was a member of the NGO which members adhere to the principles and chartera of the UN.

i used to love the comments archie bunker made about the bible.
i remember when he was talking about adam and eve and how it was all her fault that they ate the apple and then god got mad and told them to "get their clothes on and get the hell out of there.
" and then there was samson who "found a jawbone in the grass and went and slew the philippines.".
I remember when he said to Edith how all those peoples were out there having their sexual orgies, jumping on each others bones and fun, while I was at home with you.
"Well, I'll tell you one thing about President Nixon. He keeps Pat home. Which was where Roosevelt should have kept Eleanor. Instead he let her run around loose until one day she discovered the colored. We never knew they were there. She told them they were gettin' the short end of the stick and we been having trouble ever since."

i've been out of the witnesses for a year...and in that span i've become more of a skeptic towards any sort of religion or god.
i don't know if i will ever again have faith in a supernatural, all loving and powerful being.
i suppose this is because the only god i really know anymore is jehovah of the watchtower- who to me is nothing more than a jealous, angry and vindictive creature.
Stop looking externally to find God but look inside yourself. You are a whole and complete person and no one or anything can make you more complete than you all ready are. Once you discover this than you can begin to look for a belief system that will fulfill your needs.

can someone provide me some insight or past experience with the pros and cons to disassociating oneself versus getting disfellowshipped?
besides the obvious of not having to deal with the lynch squad.
thanks for you comments.
I was told some time ago, the difference between being DF'd or DA'd is that if you ever want back into the fold, it is harder to get reinstated if you have DA'd yourself. I agree why give them the satisfaction of either. They will do whatever they want but why participate in something you don't even respect and believe in.

well, it's finally over.
last saturday i talked with an elder about how i feel about the wt.
we talked for about 3 hours.
Incredible and that is why the dubs are in decline. It is our duty to the rest of society and to let them know what the JW's really stand for.

I think you have a point here. We know that the WT has demonized the UN so why would the rank and file dub believe what the UN says? I can see it now the Watchtower coming out saying it was all a lie made up by the "Satan’s" the father of the lie's organization. You can then show them all the proof you have and the average dub won't believe you because it’s all a lie. You will be arguing with them in circles with this one.

the recent post on how we felt about apostates when we were dubs made me remember something, which i touched on in the post.
when i was 11 my entire damn family visited bethel in brooklyn.
there was a grey-haired older fellow that stayed outside the facility yelling at the top of his lungs.
Yeah and I saw him in a Dinkies Donut shop dunking his donut. I couldn't believe it was Mr. Coffee.

I think this topics has been covered so I won't repeat what everyone else has said. It is typical "double speak" from the GB. One can interrupt the letter either way depending on who reads it. Some could read it and say there they say its OK "A well-trimmed beard in itself would not preclude one from being in the Theocratic Ministry School, sharing in the ministry, or being baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Nor should a Christian be shunned simply for wearing a beard since this is not considered as being disorderly in one's conduct."
Than on the other hand an elder would read "At the same time, on matters of grooming, we do agree that this should be left to an individual's personal decision. While a certain style of grooming, such as wearing a beard, does not pre-vent a person from being valued as one of Jehovah's servants in the Christian congregation, it may have some effect on the extent he can be used for additional privileges, depending on the local sentiment."
Typical cult mind manipulating techniques used here. I remember years ago writing a letter to the GB and getting the same type of "double speak" response. A few years ago I grew a beard to see what they would say, and you should have seen the looks I got. What a bunch of 2 faced, judgmental AH. It was a good test for me to see how shallow the dubs are. The only good thing is they never bugged me to go out and bang on doors...
